As we approach the close of the Easter Season next weekend, we are approaching closer to the reopening of public Mass celebrations! Watch for updates to come.

This weekend we celebrate the Ascension of Christ to His Father in Heaven. He is now working from Home just like many of us! With humor, prayer and hope we continue on through this pandemic, knowing that the end goal of our true journey is ultimately with Our Father in Heaven.

After Jesus' Ascension into heaven, His disciples came together in the upper room to devote themselves to constant prayer (Acts 1:14). They prayed for nine days before receiving the Holy Spirit on Pentecost.

We, too, can prepare for Pentecost by praying a nine day Novena to the Holy Spirit- the first of the Church's novenas. Receiving the Holy Spirit enables us, like the Apostles to "Go" and evangelize, as the Holy Spirit is "the first agent of evangelization" (Evangelii nuntiandi, n. 75; cf. Redemptoris missio, n. 24).

A sample Pentecost Novena can be downloaded below.

Alleluia, alleluia.
Go make disciples of all nations;
I am with you always, to the end of the age.
Alleluia, alleluia.
(Mt 28.19, 20)
